Diporiphora arnhemica
A moderately slender lizard with a strong post-auricular fold behind the tympanum. Brown to grey overall with pale grey to cream lengthwise stripes overlaying and interrupting 8 to 9 dak reddish-brown to grey bands between nape and hips. A pale stripe on the side may extend between forelimb and hindlimb. Snout to vent distance is 63 mm.

Breeding males usually lack dorsal bars and develop red flush on limbs.

Prefers woodland with ground cover of speargrass or spinifex, usually associated with stony soils. Perches on rocks and termite mounds or in the middle of open patches, sprints for cover when approached.

Generally found in the dry tropical north, predominantly terrestrial.
