Cazneaux Tree Previous photograph Thumbnails Next photograph
This river red gum was the subject of a photograph entitled 'Spirit of Endurance' taken in 1937 by Harold Cazneaux which gained him international recognition. The tree has now become an important local landmark and tourist attraction for photographers and painters just off the Harker to Blinman Road about 1 km north of the Wilpena Pound intersection. The tree is similar in appearance to the photograph taken more than seventy years ago.
